Commercial

The attorneys of Meyer Orlando LLC have represented clients in a many different commercial and business law disputes. Some of such litigation has been “bet-the-company” litigation. One example was a commercial lending dispute involving over $45 million in which we represented the lender. We not only defeated the defaulting borrower, we obtained judgment for the full amount owed. The litigation was incredibly complex and took many years to resolve, though federal, state and bankruptcy courts, in both Texas and New York, but through perseverance our client prevailed.

Not everyone’s claims are large and complex, though. Some can be as simple as a small contract dispute. Those matters need to be handled efficiently and effectively. We pride ourselves in handling the small matters in ways that make our clients happy. That usually means employing a strategy that ends a dispute quickly. We feel it is our job to save the client as much in legal costs as is possible while obtaining a result that makes commercial sense.

While we do not act for borrowers as their counsel filing bankruptcy proceedings, we are skilled in other areas of bankruptcy practice whether it be a matter that has to be litigated in bankruptcy court or in representing creditors who have claims in a bankruptcy.

We have handled many different types of contractual disputes, unfair competition, deceptive trade practice, warranty and UCC disputes, and claims involving fraud. Commercial disputes generally require a strong mix of great strategy and business sense. We employ both to assist our clients to achieve favorable results without “breaking the bank.” Understanding the client’s business is a key to superior representation. We have the business acumen to do so.
